The New Orleans suburb of Harahan Louisiana is home to a nice locally owned and operated bowling center with good prices, food and a comfy lounge. Colonial Bowling may not offer too many luxury features or a posh ambiance, but bowlers like it for what it is, a solid destination for both league and friendly bowling without too many frills.
Frequent bowlers tout the friendly environment, good pub food and prices as some of the factors that make Colonial Bowling special. You can buy bowling by the hour at great rates as well as a “Pizza Special” which gives you 2 hours of unlimited bowling, a large pizza as well as a pitcher of the drink of your choice. They also have discounts for late night bowling and a Half Price Sunday Special.
The variety of leagues available at Colonial Bowling ensures that you can find an appropriate match no matter what your bowling level. They also have funny names including the Very Mixed Nuts adult mixed league and the Colonial Pee Wees league for kids. The alley’s website also helpfully notes that the leagues are never rained out!
They also occasionally offer some special events, including a Colonial Lanes Trio Tournament and an annual event called the “Spina Bifida Ghost Bowl,” which is most likely only understood by the locals.
The alley is also located very close to Harahan Elementary School, the most important architectural work in the town which appears on the Register of Historic Places of the US Department of the Interior.
