As noted below by David Nowaczewski, Continental Lanes is now closed. The alley website lists an upcoming public auction, so perhaps a new buyer will reopen it.
Continental Lanes in Roseville, MI is a bowling center with an interesting history.
It has served Southeastern Michigan for over 50 years and was started as a side investment by local jazz musicial Eddie Pawl. Since then, it has come a long way, as its fun family atmosphere has been featured in several publications including Hot Rod magazine.
Interesting Promotions
Today, they offer a wide variety of leagues and interesting promotions, including a Simpsons Bowling Club.
The best promotion, however, is Detroit Red Wings Bowling Club, which combines league bowling with NHL hockey and offers tickets to a Red Wings home game, food vouchers and even a chance to actually go on the ice and shoot on the net after the game is over. (website)
If you feel down after a night of gutterballs, you can take out your frustration by whipping a puck with all your might!
In addition to bowling, the center offers a pizzeria that also specializes in chicken pitas, a large TV lounge and a poker room.
Continental Lanes is also a good place to hold a fundraiser, as previous efforts have somehow accommodated over 320 bowlers at one time. Additionally, if you browse the alley’s official website, a pair of googly-eyes will follow your mouse cursor across the page….

Continental Lanes - Roseville, MI,
Larry Finley says
First place I ever bowled…..It was in the late 1950’s, I was like 7 or 8 and bowled every Saturday morning in a “Bantam” league. Did that for a few years……my dad drove me there when he didn’t have to work. It wasn’t the closest house either, since we lived near 6 Mile Road and Gunston in Detroit and Continental was at 81/2 and Gratiot!

I’m sorry…..I was confusing this house with Centennial Lanes………I’m old, lol.
