When you’re thinking of the best areas for BBQ, Colorado might not top your list, but when they combine it with bowling and live music, it becomes pretty hard to beat.
A Taste of the South: Plenty of Good BBQ on the Menu
Moe’s Original BBQ is a joint well-known for its pulled pork, smoked chicken, St. Louis cut spare ribs and other tasty Southern BBQ treats and side dishes. There are also various lunch specials and full dinner platters to match any level of appetite. Their Englewood location features 8 lanes of bowling to go along with the feats, so as long as you don’t stuff yourself to the point of not being able to move, this becomes a pretty fun combination.
Moe’s Music Blast
They also feature live shows with a variety of musical groups and artists, which are usually around $5 cover. Recent acts have ranged from “Tantric Picasso” to “The March Fourth Marching Band” to “Little Fyodor and Babushka.” They also occasionally host other entertainment nights, including a pub quick titled “Geeks Who Drink.”
As for the bowling, you can pay $3 per game or rent the lanes by the hour. They even let you reserve all 8 for any type of event. Throughout all of this, they emphasize the relaxed, Southern-influenced atmosphere you will encounter.
History – Authentic Southern
Moe’s Original BBQ was conceived back in the late 1980s by a group of friends in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. After learning about roasting meats and developing a distinct flavor, the business really started to pick up, and it would later add bowling and expand to other locations including Colorado.

I just drove by here the other day. Haven’t been there but the outside looks really inviting and they did a good job of advertising their BBQ. I’ll probably try to make it out there with friends at some point.
