Up until recently, the claim to fame of Waveland Bowl in Chicago was the fact that it was open 24 hours a day. Bowlers could come in for a few games at 5am either as a way to get an early start on the day or a method to keep a wild night going. While this isn’t the case anymore, the alley on North Central still doesn’t shut its doors until 1am and 3am on the weekends, so your late-night bowling desire can still usually be satisfied.
Waveland Bowl has been serving the Chicago area since the 1950s, and it has come to be one of the most popular alleys in the area. The large center features a variety of leagues, good Chicago style food and most importantly, excellent prices. Morning bowling M-F is only $1/game and other times of the week range from $2-$4, with weekend nights still a very reasonable $5.
The food is served at an on-site restaurant known as Alley Dogs which serves up big hot dogs, burgers, Italian beef, pizza, chicken and much more.
Promos
Children’s bowling promotions include pajama day and crazy hair day (website). The website’s league area also features an “Honor Rollers” section with photos of bowlers who have bowled a 300 game. There is even a video of a bowler named Evan Smith clinching a perfect game in February 2010 and the whole alley going wild with excitement. Rolling a few games at Waveland Bowl might even make you an online sensation!
