Bonwood Bowl has been serving the Salt Lake City area for over 50 years, and although many alleys today have transformed into trendy nightculbs and amusement parks, this one has stuck with the fundamentals. You can enjoy some classic bowling with your friends or family, grab a cold one or snack afterwards, and overall take in an environment where the action on the lanes is the main attraction.
In addition to the atmosphere, Bonwood Bowl’s prices harken back to the glory days of bowling. One of the more impressive deals we’ve seen is the three game special offered on Sundays and Tuesday-Thursday. Just $7 will get you three games of bowling and shoe rental. Sunday mornings also carry a special rate of $1.25/game from 9am to 11:30am, along with a shoe rental price of $1.25. If you like to bowl early and haven’t stayed up too late on Saturday night, you can really save by rolling several games at this great price.
For those whose interests extend beyond just open bowling, there are leagues for all skill levels. And there’s a great deal of skill at the top. A number of 800 series were recorded during the 2011-12 season, including two by Anthony Azevedo. Also, twelve different bowlers have bowled 300 games during league play this season. There is a high scores archive for past seasons on the website, so if you happen to have a career game, your name will be up for all to see.
All bowlers, record-holders or not, can visit the Trophy Room Lounge before or after their bowling session to enjoy 30 varieties of cans and bottles, 6 taps, and a 52” plasma screen TV. There’s also food to be had at amazing prices, including burgers ranging from $2.75 to $5.00 and 16” pizzas from $12 to $14.50.
